"If androids had an afterlife, what would it be like?"

Inspired by this intriguing question, I created Goodbye World, a story that explores the afterlife of androids through the journey of an android named Broid and a blind girl named Lucy.

At the heart of this narrative is the unexpected and gripping adventure shared by two vastly different characters as they navigate the eerie and mysterious realm of Goodbye World.

Process

I began by exploring afterlife concepts from various cultures, imagining what an android afterlife might look like.

From this idea, I created two characters, Broid and Lucy, and envisioned their journey through this synthetic beyond. Their experiences shaped the storyboard, bringing the concept to life.

I designed Broid and Lucy as complete opposites in both appearance and personality—Broid with a sharp, rigid form and a guarded nature, Lucy with a soft, rounded shape and an energetic spirit.

After modeling and rigging both characters, I moved into full production, bringing their contrast to life through animation.

I crafted the world of Goodbye World with a crimson sky, crumbling buildings, and scattered remains of giant androids—a setting designed to instantly evoke an android afterlife without the need for explanation.

I animated the movement of Broid and statue in the environment. By adding visual effects, the movement that happens in the scene becomes more natural.
